How to install integrated dishwasher

It is essential to account for at least 3 cm of space behind your integrated dishwasher since the dishwasher hookup takes some space. In addition, you should be sure to measure three ways: front-to-back, top-to-bottom, and edge-to-edge. Once you have the measurements, you can start looking at your preferred dishwasher manufacturer to find the perfect integrated dishwasher for your kitchen. If this is your first integrated dishwasher, the measurement process will be the same, except using your cabinet space.

Also, be sure to add 3cm of backspace for your dishwasher supply pipes. However, you do need to take extra care because some added touches and drilling need to be done for hassle-free installation.

In addition, you will need the correct power supplies, as well as a reliable power drill. Several companies offer an integrated dishwasher installation service, and some dishwashers come with the service included. Nevertheless, by installing your integrated dishwasher yourself, you can save a great deal on a dishwasher installation cost.

Most integrated dishwashers will come with installation kits and a manual for easy installation. Since there will still be water in your faucets and pipes after switching off the water, it is best to open your taps and let them run until no more water comes out. Then you can continue. By following these ten steps , you will be able to enjoy your integrated dishwasher in no time. Installing an integrated dishwasher into an existing cabinet can be time-consuming but the payoff is worth it.

Once you start enjoying your dishwasher, it will be hard to imagine a time before you had it. For example, suppose you have a space that you want to use for your integrated dishwasher but it is an existing cabinet. In that case, you will first need to check that the cabinet is close enough to the water supply for the dual outlet valve and the drain for the dishwasher drain and the power supply.

Cut a hole between the lower, back-edge of the side of the sink cabinet and the dishwasher cabinet with a hole saw. Feed the electrical cable through the hole into the dishwasher cabinet. Attach a flexible supply line to the water inlet on the back of the dishwasher. Position the dishwasher in front of the cabinet opening, and feed the ends of the drain line and the supply line through the hole into the sink cabinet.

Push the dishwasher into the cabinet and pull the slack of the two lines into the sink cabinet. Adjust the feet of the dishwasher so that the top edge of the door is even with the bottom of the countertop. Open and close the dishwasher door a couple of times to ensure that it doesn't scrape the countertop.

Then secure the dishwasher mounts to the underside of the cabinet frame with the included mounting screws and a power drill. Reach under the dishwasher and pull the electrical cable toward the front of the unit. Slip the end of the cable into the wiring clamp, and push about 8 inches of cable into the wiring compartment before tightening the wiring clamp with a screwdriver. Remove the outer sheathing from the cable inside the compartment with a utility knife.

Connect the end of the black wire from the electrical cable to the black wire from the dishwasher with a wire nut. Then connect the white wires in similar fashion.

Wrap the end of the bare wire around the green grounding screw and tighten the screw with a screwdriver. Locate the fixing screws on the side and top of the door. Many integrated dishwashers have 2 fixing screws located about halfway down the side edge of the door. There may also be 2 fixing screws located at the top edge of the door as well. Check along the side and top edges for any screws that keep the door held in place.

There may be more than 2 or 4 fixing screws, so look for all of them. Use a screwdriver to remove the fixing screws. Fit the screwdriver into the slot on top of the screws and turn them counterclockwise, or to the left, to loosen them. Pull the decorative door off of the dishwasher. The integrated dishwasher door is also held in place by small rollers that fit into slots on the front of the door and metal connection pieces that look like small brackets that attach to the door.

Grab the sides of the integrated door with both of your hands. Pull it straight up to lift it off of the front of the dishwasher. Method 2. Choose an integrated door that matches your kitchen. Look for a door that matches the design of your cabinets so it blends in. For example, you could use a stainless steel door for a sleek and modern look. Make sure the integrated door fits the parameters of your dishwasher.

Line up the fixing plate with the connection sites. The fixing plate is the panel between the integrated door and the actual door of the dishwasher that holds the rollers and metal connections to fasten them together. Align the fixing plate with the holes where the rollers and metal connectors need to be attached and mark the locations on the plate.

There are generally 4 connection pieces that need to be attached to secure the integrated door to the dishwasher. Attach the door rollers and connection pieces. Integrated dishwasher doors use small wheel, or rollers, that fit into slots on the front of the dishwasher and metal connection pieces that that look like small brackets and connect the door to the front of the dishwasher.

Screw in the pieces at the locations that you marked so you can line them up and connect them to the front of the dishwasher. Slide the door onto the roller slots and connections. Pick up the door with both hands and line up the small rollers and connection pieces with their slots on the front of the dishwasher.

Fit the rollers into the openings that hold them and slide the connection pieces onto their slots.
